How to cancel X Premium

The trap

X Premium cancels in x.com/settings/subscription if you paid on the web (Stripe). If you subscribed in the iOS or Android app, the store is the biller and the checkmark settings page will bounce you. Premium, Premium+, and Verified Organizations / Business are different SKUs. Grok access is often bundled with a higher X plan — cancelling Grok on xAI (if you have a standalone xAI charge) does not cancel Premium, and vice versa. Changing your handle does nothing to billing. Deactivating the account is not a cancel.

What fails

• Deactivating Twitter/X.
• Removing the checkmark in profile edit and calling it cancelled.
• Cancelling on the website when Apple billed you.
• Cancelling Premium and leaving Verified Organizations live.
• Mixing a standalone Grok/xAI charge with X Premium.
