The trap

You cancel at account.microsoft.com/services — unless Apple, Google, or a store card billed you. Personal and Family are different SKUs; Family has a manager. After the paid period, OneDrive and Outlook storage fall to the free cap and Microsoft can lock files you did not download. Microsoft 365 Copilot and a separate Copilot Pro are extra. A business/work tenant is an admin console you may not control. Perpetual Office (one-time) is not this product.

What fails

• Uninstalling Word.
• Cancelling Personal while you manage a Family plan, or the reverse.
• Leaving 80 GB in OneDrive and discovering the free cap later.
• Asking Microsoft to kill an Apple charge.
• Turning off Copilot and thinking 365 died.
