The trap

Prime itself is one of the cleaner cancels: Account → Prime membership → End membership. You keep benefits until the period you already paid for ends. If you have not used Prime benefits since the last charge, Amazon may refund that period. The maze is adjacent: Prime Video Channels, Kindle Unlimited, Audible, Subscribe & Save, and software on Amazon each have their own Manage buttons. Uninstalling the shopping app does nothing. Apple/Google-billed Prime has to be killed on that store.

What fails

• Deleting the app.
• Cancelling Prime and assuming Audible, KU, and Channels died.
• Using a Prime benefit after the charge and expecting a refund.
• Missing Subscribe & Save, which is a different screen.
• Letting a free trial roll because the reminder was a banner you dismissed.
