The trap

YouTube Premium often includes YouTube Music. There is also a Music-only SKU. Family Premium is one Google account paying for the rest — leaving the family does not cancel the manager’s bill. If you bought on iPhone, Apple is the biller even though you watch on youtube.com. Google Play billing cancels in Play subscriptions, not in a YouTube settings gear you already clicked twice. YouTube TV is a different product.

What fails

• Uninstalling YouTube.
• Cancelling Music and thinking Premium died, or the reverse.
• Leaving a family and assuming the manager stopped paying.
• Managing it on youtube.com when Apple or Play is the biller.
• Cancelling Premium and leaving YouTube TV.
