The trap

Individual Premium cancels in the Spotify account or, if Apple/Google billed you, in that store. Duo and Family are different: the manager’s card pays. Leaving a Family does not cancel the manager’s bill, and cancelling Individual while you still own a Family plan can leave the family live. Student needs a yearly re-verify; fail it and you convert to full price, not to free. Podcast subscriptions and a partner plan (Hulu, carrier) are extra desks.

What fails

• Deleting the app.
• Leaving a Family and assuming the manager stopped paying.
• Cancelling on Spotify.com when Apple is the biller.
• A student plan that quietly became Premium.
• A partner bundle (Hulu, a carrier) that Spotify cannot kill.
